Chances are when you set foot onto the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point that you may not want to leave it. That's fine and understandable. As a result though, it does limit your dining options. One of those options is Tanglewood. Tanglewood is good, but not great. The setting is very relaxed and reminds me of eating on a cruise ship. Service was prompt and incredibly friendly. There is a menu of your usual suspects and also a buffet. I decided on the salmon and cream cheese on a bagel, with chive, onions, and tomatoes. Though most of the components of the plate were very good, I'm not sure the salmon was up to par. I didn't finish the dish, which rarely happens, and actually had to supplement it with a plate of plain old scrambled eggs. The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point experience as a whole was excellent, but Tanglewood was one of the very few blemishes on the experience.

Expensive, as you'd expect. $21 weekday breakfast buffet would be overpriced but includes beverages. The delicious, fresh-squeezed orange juice made it worthwhile. The food was good. Dinner last night was enjoyable as well with good service. When you wish to dine on site, Tanglewood is your best, least expensive option.

The crab cake sandwich and burger we had this evening were great, but beyond the standard of service here is clearly excellence. Not only has our waitress Jayliz been incredibly attentive with promptly bringing bread + our meals and refilling our beverages, but when my husband's lip began swelling in reaction to a bug bite he received on the patio, she went out of her way to head to the resort's convenience store and purchase him some Claritin to clear it up, paying for it OUT OF HER OWN POCKET. What an incredible example of service and kindness. Great food, great atmosphere, and clearly a staff willing to go above and beyond for a customer. We just arrived about an hour ago and we are already thrilled. Thank you, Jayliz, and thank you Tanglewood!

After spending a hot and sunny day on Hyatt's private island (Big Hickory Island Beach) we enjoyed dinner at Tanglewood, which is adjacent to the hotel lobby at the HRCP. We originally wanted to eat out in Bonita Springs, but since we were all in lazy vacation mode, we decided to go down to Tanglewood. It was mid-week and so it was a rare moment when there weren't that many guests or conferences going on. We tried the Conch Fritters which came out hot and crispy and went quite well with the pickappeppa aioli. Entrees included their crab cake sandwich, which indeed came out with very little filler; the 10 oz ribeye prepared medium with steak fries and roasted garlic bordelaise sauce; and the jumbo shrimp scampi with linguine. The food was fine as was the service. I'm all about ambience and it was sort of sad that there weren't as many guests dining at Tanglewood.

Ate here for lunch today as we are staying at the hyatt. We were a group of 11- Adults and children under 5 and didn't want to drag everyone off property for a quick bite. We were easily accommodated on the screened in patio, a lovely setting. The restaurant is more upscale than the pool bar. Our food was above average especially for a resort restaurant. Some especially good meals among our group were the prime rib sandwich, the fish tacos, and the pizza. Skip the burger, the other entrees are more interesting. I had a great sunset cocktail as well. The kids meals were not typical - some unique options. Expect to pay typical hotel food prices but for better-than-typical hotel food. Excellent service as well. We enjoyed it!

Slow service and mediocre food says it best. As a concession, the hotel was overbooked when I checked in for a one night business stay but the service and food should not suffer this much because of it. I had the chicken breast and it was disappointing at best. It was not fresh, it appeared to be a frozen breast prepared in way I wouldn't be proud of for a quick meal at home. The bean/andouille garnish was not fresh as well, seemed as though it was canned as well. Neither had any real flavor. The four quarter slices of squash did seem fresh and were tasty. Overall, not something I'd buy again for 1/2 the price charged. The wait staff was friendly, but no one even asked how my meal was.

Stayed at the Hyatt Coconut Point with my wife for four days (7/31-8/3) and decided to have breakfast here on a Saturday morning. Have eaten breakfast and lunch here previously (2 years ago), so was looking forward to it. How things have changed! Sadly, being seated was the extent of our experience. We were handed menus and then proceeded to wait for 20 minutes at the table. No server ever came to take orders, offer water or coffee, or even say hi- in spite of the restaurant being less than half full and my attempt to hail a server. Terribly disappointing given the level of service and attention Hyatt typically demonstrates. Handed our menus back to a yellow-shirted greeter (who sat us) and, without any comment or concern, she took them and turned away. Dismissive at least, insulting at worst. Settled for lattes and muffins at the coffee shop not 50 feet away. Cheerful staff, attentive and polite- Tanglewood's staff we encountered should take note of what excellent service looks like just down the hall!

What a nice option for breakfast! I was blown away by my experience at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point this past weekend, so it should not be different with their restaurant. I had breakfast twice there, on the 1st day I chose from their menu and on the 2nd day I went for their buffet. Both days were outstanding. Their service is what I'm calling "Disney style" which means outstanding! They will do anything at their hands to make you happy, man I like that! They treated me like a princess making all my desires available at my request in no time. The restaurant was beautifully decorated in tones of dark wood, green, orange. I believe the choice of colors was so it could make a beautiful contrast with the outside view that faces the pool area with waterfalls all around, and that view just made my breakfast even more special and relaxing. On the first day I had the cage free eggs with chicken sausage and croissant, as you may know cage free eggs are small, very healthy, and very tasteful. They came nicely accompanied by cheese grits two nice sausages, my flaky delicious croissant, and I asked them to change the home fries by fresh fruits, and it was done without any extra charge. The coffee was strong and hot just the way I like it. They had lovely jam stands, just like cupcakes holder, and the jams were from Austria. I had no idea that Austria had such great jams! Wow, I had the orange marmalade, the rose apricot, the peach, and the strawberry. I need to find out if they are sold outside there because they were just delicious with chunks of fruits and it had just the right amount of sugar in it. On the second day I tried their buffet where they had an omelette station, a cheese and cold meat station, a bakery station displaying different breads, cakes, muffins, pastries, all way too good. Their fruit station had the freshest fruits: crispy strawberries, sweet cantaloupes, sweet blueberries, and more. On their hot station they had scrambled eggs, egg white pies, chicken feta sausage, crispy bacon, regular sausage, home fries... Let's not forget they had muesli, cereals, grits, etc. It was all delicious, nicely displayed, clean, inviting, and incredibly good. I did not had the chance to try their lunch or dinner menu, but I'm already planning my return so next time I will do it. Can't wait to go back!

Had dinner here one night while staying at the resort. It was "Pasta Night" at the restaurant and the menu was focused on pasta dishes. The rest of the menu was pretty limited, so most of our group went with pasta dishes. We were pretty much all disappointed with the food. The pasta was generally overcooked and the dishes lacked flavor. Most of us ate less than half of our dishes. The staff tried to make it right by offering apologies and discounting the bill, but ended up making us even more uncomfortable by parading out members of the kitchen staff to ask us to explain over and over again what was wrong with the food.

We added breakfast to our room and we had a buffet which is priced at about 20 bucks a person. There was hot food available and everything was good. I enjoyed: Bagel with smoked salmon and capers Bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs Waffles and syrup Fresh fruit Omlett bar Oatmeal bar Biscuits and gravy Breakfast burrito Cheese blintzes and croissants I think I would have enjoyed the food more if I were hungrier! It is high quality but I would have been happier with just a croissant from the lobby coffee shop and saved myself 40 bucks plus tip!

Very nice lunch @ Tanglewood in the Hyatt. We all (4 of us) had separate entrees & appetizers & all were very good to very good. The crab cake appetizer I had was very good & actually could have been a main course. My grouper was good & covered with tropical seasonings but was a bit bland for my taste. My wife had the 'rocket salad' which included mozzarella, arugula & tropical dressing & was very good. Her entree of paella was ok but not memorable. The ambience was very nice & waitress was excellent.

Good buffet, nothing fancy but it had all the usual breakfast items. My husband chose to have the breakfast pizza and he enjoyed it. The strawberries and the honeydew mellon were very good. Great service.

Have definitely had better than this. I was staying here at the Hyatt for the weekend of the storm so tried to make the best of it. We came here twice for breakfast, everything was good but the coffee defeinitely had a burnt taste at all times. Then we came here for dinner because everything else in town was closed. Food was less than favorable but the service was still great, The manager on duty was really nice and amicable was going by all the tables to say hello.

Located inside the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, this is a spectacular breakfast option when staying in the hotel. Expect to pay around $30-40 per person, but the food is amazing, as long as you order well. My number one recommendation is the crab and steak eggs benedict (they have another name on the menu, however something along these lines) for $14. Two huge english muffin halves, buttered and toasted, each topped with either a crabcake or steak, a perfectly poached egg and fresh hollandaise. The buffet (we only saw it on a weekday, so could be better on the weekends) left a lot to be desired, $20. But the applewood chicken sausage was also amazing. The shrimp, broccoli and spinach omelette was also very good, with a huge portion of fresh shrimp, $12. My only qualm was that the drinks were a little pricey: coffee, tea and juice. The waitress brings you a tray with a pitcher of orange juice and a pot of coffee, even before ordering, and asks if you'd like some. This lead us to believe it was included in the breakfast price, however it could be if we had ordered the buffet it would have been? Not sure, but we ended up paying an extra $20 just in coffee, tea and juice for two people. We will be more conservative next time :) Overall an excellent place for breakfast in the hotel, and even if you're not staying in the hotel (self-parking is free!).

Included in our Labor Day package was breakfast for two. So each morning we went down with the kids and had the buffet. Omelet station, french toast, salmon, cereals, waffles, fresh fruit, oj, coffee, apple chicken sausage...what's not to like!!! I really enjoyed this place during our stay. And they didn't' even charge for the kiddies!! I'm a fan!

My partner and I stayed at the Hyatt Coconut Plantation resort which is walking distance from the Hyatt Regency in Bonita Springs. We decided to walk over to the hotel to try dinner at Tanglewood, one of its restaurants. We were very pleased to have done so. We ate in the outdoor, screened porch which was beautifully decorated. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. When we said we like to split plates or sought out smaller plates, he obliged our palates by leading us to some incredible delights. The chicken tortilla soup was a stretch for us San Diegans. However the presentation and taste made it one of our best ever soups. The bowls, when placed before us, were filled with chicken bites, avocado, and tortilla strips--all in the center of the bowls. The soup was added at the table in a way to surround the contents--very artfully done. The soup was a creamy concoction that made our taste buds tingle in all the right ways. Next we split their Cobb salad. The server, after hearing what we liked and didn't like, brought the salad on two separate plates according to our wishes. Everything was super fresh and arranged beautifully on the plate. The final course was the steak wedge salad. Oh my. It had to be one of the best pizzas we have ever had. The combination of shaved prime rib, honey bacon, roasted tomatoes, oregonzola cheese, topped with mixed greens and housemade blue cheese dressing was beyond sinful. The brick oven crust was light and expertly crispy (but not too much). Every part of our dinner was perfect from start to finish. We liked it so much we did the walk again the following night.
